Living Naturally Soapnuts are the only organic detergent that grows on trees - it simply doesn't get greener than this! Living Naturally Soapnuts or Soapberries are actually dried fruit shells which contain real natural soap and are 100% completely natural.
They are excellent value for money - the 500g bag does up to 240 washes and the 1kg bag up to a massive 480! You can also choose smaller options - a 250g paper tube that will wash up to 108 times or try them out first with our sample bag, which will wash up to 10 times and is also handy for travel.
All Living Naturally products are handmade in the UK, from natural, organic, vegan, sustainable, ethical and cruelty-free ingredients. Find the full Living Naturally range here. The soapnuts themselves are organic and wild-crafted (free from pesticide and not contributing to deforestation), and are grown in forests in rural parts of India, which are owned by some of the farmers/collectors. The soapnuts are ship-freighted in bulk to the UK to minimise carbon footprint. And even though the demand for soapnuts has increased, because the seeds can be replanted and the trees are never actually harmed, they are completely sustainable.
Soapnuts are highly-effective and gentle at the same time. They will leave your laundry fresh and clean and compared to other powder detergents, and their mildness will keep colours bright, maintaining fabric structure of your clothes for longer periods. They can be used on all fabrics and at all temperatures from 30c to 90c. Great for all washing machines especially energy efficient machines and great for all allergy sufferers.
Inside your pack there will be a mixed of whole and broken shells, and there may also be variation of colours due to the time the soapnuts were harvested. Soapnuts can also become a bit sticky in the cotton bag. None of these factors affect their efficacy.
100% biodegradable and compostable - just dispose of them in your green recycling or foodwaste bins or pop in your compost heap.
